Emotions

When I searched Edward's Crooked Smile, this picture came out most,
although it's not a favorite of mine.
This one looks crooked, a little. Ha!
I kinda like this one, although...it's not really crooked.

This post is inspired by the Twilight Saga. Usually when I am reading a book, if I come over a word that I don't understand (which occurs VERY frequently >.<), I just let it go, never wanting to find what the word means. However, the incredible author, Stephenie Meyer, used a tremendous amount of emotions in her books. The emotions were quite important, because they made me to not understand what Edward and Bella were thinking. It made me frustrated, so I decided to ask the teacher who doesn't speak, the dictionary. Extraordinarily, reading the dictionary was actually FUN while I looked up for the words. I finally get to understand Edward and Bella! Hurray!

So..here comes the LONG list:

1. scowl
-皱眉;沉下脸,显怒容
-to draw down or contract the brows in a sullen, displeased, or angry manner
-She scowled a the noisy children.

2. grimace

-a facial expression, often ugly or contorted, that indicates disapproval, pain, etc
-He made a grimace when I mentioned his ex-wife.
p/s: I still don't really get what grimace looks like. The pictures I google-ed were really UGLY.

3. frown
-皱眉;表示不满
-to draw the brows together and wrinkle the forehead, especially in anxiety, anger, disapproval or concentration
-The teacher frowned at the naughty pupils.

4. glower
-怒视
-to stare hard and angrily; to scowl or glare
-The child sat glowering at his mother and refused to eat his vegetables.

5. grin
-露齿而笑
-a broad smile showing the teeth
-A big grin on his face told us that he had won the match.

6.groan
-呻吟
-to make a deep, inarticulate sound expressive of derision, disapproval, desire, etc.(Bella and Edward do this a lot)
-to utter a deep, mournful sound expressive of pain or grief.
-"She's left me," he said with a groan.

7. scoff
-嘲笑
-to speak derisively; mock; jeer
-He scoffed at her fears.

8. crooked smile
There is no way that any dictionaries will be me a definition of this, so I posted three picture about this smile. Love the pictures? Haha

9. moan
-呻吟声;呜咽声
-a prolonged, low, inarticulate sound uttered from or as if from physical or mental suffering.
-Each time she tried to move her broken leg she let out a moan

10. wince
-脸部肌肉的抽搐
-to make a small, involuntary movement, usually twisting the muscles of the face, to show pain, distress or embarrassment; to flinch
-I saw his wince when the doctor touched the cut.

11. pout
-噘嘴
-to push the lips or the lower lip forward, especially in temper of displeasure
-If reprimanded, children are inclined to pout.
p/s: I'm sorry, I can't find any good sentences for pout. Anyway, Bella pouts a lot in the book though.

12. flinch
-畏惧;退缩
-to draw back or shrink, as from what is dangerous, difficult, or unpleasant.
-I couldn't help but flinch when the nurse changed the dressings on my burns.

13. snarl
-咆哮
-to growl viciously, baring the teeth
-to speak in a vicious or angry way
p/s: Sorry, no good sentences either: Edward snarls a lot!

14. growl

-to speak in a gruff or angry manner
-The sergeant major growled out his orders.

15. stare

-Her strange hairstyle received a few curious stares

16. furrow
-起皱纹
-to make wrinkles in (the face)
-His brow was furrowed in concentration.

17. snicker
-窃笑
-to giggle of laugh quietly and unpleasantly, snigger
-I heard them snicker when I tripped on the step.

18. gasp
-(因惊讶等)倒抽一口气
-a sudden, short intake of breath, as in shock or surprise.
-She drew back from the gruesome sight with a gasp.

19. smirk
-傻笑(Huh? I don't get it >.<)
-To smile in an affected, often offensively self-satisfied manner.
-"That's where you're wrong, " she said, smirking

20. smug
-沾沾自喜的
-too pleased or satisfied with yourself
-She had a smug smile on her face because she was right.

21. gape
-(由于惊奇等而)张口结舌,目瞪口呆
-to stare in astonishment or wonder, especially open-mouthed
-All children gape at the first glimpse of Disneyland.

22. snigger
-暗笑
-an unpleasant, stifled laugh
-It's childish to snigger at people's mistakes.

Finally, last one!

23. snort
-轻蔑(或愤怒)地哼;嘲讽地大笑
-to make similar sound showing disapproval
-She snorted with disgust at the mess.

Finale. Haha. Well, there are words in the list that I do know, but I just want to post it up here so that everyone can thoroughly understand the words. If this post looks like a lecture, sorry! Haha.

In my instrumental music class, I'm learning the Russian Sailors Dance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJgZ-GiPlvM) and Hungarian Dance No. 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3X9LvC9WkkQ). Great songs! Listen to them if you are free.

Happy Belated Valentines! 情人节快乐!

Addicted to Twilight Saga

Robert Pattinson : True Love Never Dies
Henry Cavill
Hayden Christensen
Orlando Bloom
Gerard Way
Wow! I abandoned my blog for one month! Sorry~ >.< I didn't mean to. Actually, I have loads to write, but I always get lazy, so...you know what happens, haha.

I had a great time in Malaysia during Chinese New Year. ^^ The best time is of course spending time with people that you care for. One of the best thing that I brought back from Malaysia is the Twilight Saga! Hurray for me~ After craving for two months, I finally have the whole Twilight Saga - Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. A trillion thanks to Huh Gugu, who gave the first three books as a present to me and my parents who paid for Breaking Dawn. ^^ Thank you, again, for giving me the opportunity to read Twilight at the same time with Zhao Min, which is very fun. ^^ To those who are reading or planning to read Twilight, read Twilight and Midnight Sun together - it will be FUN!

I also bought (well, paid by parents actually) a book called Robert Pattinson : True Love Never Dies. I think the most interesting thing that I read in the book was the actors the were considered playing as Edward Cullen. Cool eh? Haha. So I'm going to post the names and pictures of the actors and maybe some brief description about them. Here goes~

1. Henry Cavill
-Stephenie Meyer's first choice for the role of Edward Cullen
-He lost the role because when Twilight was being produced, he was already 25, which is too old to play a 17-year-old
-Some interesting facts about HC:
  • Auditioned for Batman in Batman Begins but lost out to Christian Bale
  • Considered to play Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (what a coincidence!)
  • Auditoned for the role of Superman in Superman Returns but lost the role
  • Another choice as James Bond in Casino Royale but looks too young so Daniel Craig got the role
2.Hayden Christensen
-fan suggestion
-Leading actor in the movie Jumper, as David Rice

3.Orlando Bloom
-fan suggestion
-Ok, I don't think that Orlando Bloom can play as Edward Cullen, it just doesn't make any sense to me!!!!
-Everyone knows him, Will Turner in Pirates of the Carribbean or Legolas in Lord of the Rings! Don't tell me you don't know him!

4. Gerard Way
-Ok, this is ridiculous! NO WAY for this guy to be Edward Cullen! Insanity! Honestly, I would prefer Orlando Bloom to this guy. God!
-I chose a better looking picture of him to post here, because I don't want his other pictures here. Go google him if you want to see how he really looks like.

I'm not trying to attack anyone here, I'm just writing my opinions about who would be Edward Cullen best, so don't kill me or anything, please!

During reading Robert Pattinson : True Love Never Dies, I realized that I prefer Edward Cullen(in the movie) to Rob! Why? Hehe, the first and outmost important reason is the hair! Edward's hair looks good, however Rob's hair is...well, I just don't like it, sorry! From the book, I also read that Rob has already signed up for New Moon and Eclipse. Hurray for the news! New Moon is scheduled for November 20th this year, however I doubt they will finish it >.< And we have eclipse! Hurray again! I would love to watch the scene where Edward proposed to Bella! God!

What about Breaking Dawn though? (worried..) It's one of favorites, I would love to watch a movie of Breaking Dawn, although I think to film Breaking Dawn seems like impossible to me due to Renesmee. Haizh, let's just cross our fingers together and wish. My recent post are mostly about Twilight because now I'm really addicted to it! And..I believe about two more posts will be about Twilight too...haha. ^^

Zhao Min, I just realized that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is going to be released on July 17th, and guess what, I leave Malaysia at July 18th! You know, we should go watch the movie together, since we didn't get to watch Order of the Phoenix together last time, ok?

Wao! I finished it in two weeks

I started reading Twilight on 28/1 and I finished all of the series this morning(before dawn,shhh..). Good ehh? Haha. Actually I finished reading Breaking Dawn yesterday, but I continued reading the twelve chapters that was on Stephenie Meyer's official website and some out takes from the Twilight and New Moon. It was interesting.

Honestly, I am more addicted to the books than to the movie. When I look at the cast now, I still do not the think that they were the Alice or Emmett, etc in my mind. However, it was lucky to watch the movie first, so that I could use some of the scenes from the movie and move them to the pictures that I imagined while I read the story.

Yes, the story is indeed interesting. The first thing that I found interesting about Twilight Saga was the way of Stephenie Meyer writing the story from Bella's perspective. It made the story very interesting as we, the readers will understand Bella a lot. It also made the movie less better than the book. I have always believed that the movies will never be better than the books-I gained the esperience from the Harry Potter series. As I read the first few chapters of Twilight, I was very surprised at Bella's thoughts. I defined her actions differently when I was watching the movie. That's why I think the movie will be harder to shoot than Harry Potter. There are so much thoughts! And how are they going to shoot the thoughts?

I guess that I liked this romance story is because it was kind of real. 真实。Bella and Edward fight upon the opinions and it was different from the sweet bed time stories you listen from Disney, like Cinderella, Snow White, etc. Princess and Prince don't fight there. They don't quarrel. But in reality, people quarrel. Yeah, the story is a fantasy as vampires and shape-shifters exist. But fans hope they are real. Well, vampires like The Cullens are ok for me, but what about the others that are not vegetarians? Wow, I shuddered at that thought.

Hey, people who finished reading Harry Potter and have nothing to read now, have a try at Twilight. You may or may not like it, but it's worth a try. ^^

Sick

Doesn't he look cute? And he's turing 33 this year! Haha

Wao...it's only the fourth day of year 2009 and I'm sick now. I'm weak today and I don't like it but it's all my fault. I started quite early, about 10pm last night reading New Moon, the second book of the vampire-human love story series. I got so addicted to the book and I didn't stop reading until the book finished. And guess what, I went to bed today at 5:30am. I was awaken by my mum at a quarter to eleven. My head and eyelids were very heavy and I felt dizzy. For the whole morning, I spent most of the time in bed. Yeah, I went back to bed. When mummy asked me why I was sleeping, I lied to her. I said that because I was reading a boring book and it made me fell asleep.

During lunch, I felt a bit better. I ate but not much. I asked my mum, "If I told you that I want nothing to eat, would you think that I'm truly sick?" She nodded. Then daddy suddenly said, "Fried noodles." He meant that he would use a plate of fried noodles to make me eat. Do you know why? Because I love noodles. My paternal family called me the Noodle King. Well, mostly the aunts called me that. I quite like the name, because "noodle" also meant brain. If I am the Noodle King, I must be smart. Haha, very funny.

Well, it's night time now and I'm truly sure that I have a fever. My face is buring with heat! Another joke for me to tell now. Do know why I didn't wrote that " My body is hot!"? Because in the school that I study now, hot also means sexy and I'm not sexy. Once I touched my friend's hand and shouted "You are hot!" , she looked at me with her head tilted to one side and she looked surprised. Then I only realized that she thought I was saying that she is sexy. That's why I will use the word "hot" only when neccessary.
